My Rag Quilt

This post has a little story behind it. About 4 years ago I started to make a rag quilt......one of my very first sewing projects. It was going to be a gift for my cousins 1st daughter. I used the same colors as her bedroom. Well I only did 2 rows of it.....put it away and then pulled it out a couple of months ago to finish it. Since now my little 2nd cousin is 4 years old I couldn't really gift it to her so I decided for Millie's (my nieces) 2nd birthday I would complete it.....and I did.....only it was a couple of months after her birthday. Needless to say Millie loved it and I feel very good having accomplished one of my unfinished projects. It isn't perfect if you look at it closely, but I finished it!!!! :)

And here she is all rapped up in it!

Fourth of July weekend Day 2-Saturday

On Saturday we went to Joe and Lacy's ward over at the church for th 4th of July breakfast. It was alot of fun. They had little booths set up outside for the kids with an egg on spoon race, horse shoe toss, stick pull game, a potato sack race, water balloon fight, etc. Below are some pictures of the water balloon fight and outside fun they had on the 4th.
My brother Joe handed out the water ballons to everyone and explained the rules and then the kids were off. It was so fun to watch them!

Joseph and Nicole kept trying to nail each other the whole time. They got each other pretty wet!
OOOOOOOOO.........So close!

Little Millie excited about joining in on the fun!Blaine just watchin' all the fun.

Our friend Noah!

The John's youngest boy......ADORABLE!! Just LOVE the red hair.

STICK PULL game between Nicole and Tison. Hmmmm...I wonder who will win. :)
Kaden Lavoie......what a cutie!
Sydney Lavoie....LOVE her bandana!
Yes......Tison did have FUN that morning even though this picture does not depict that emotion.
Michelle and Nicole enjoying the potato sack race!
Millie, getting ready for the kids parade!
We missed seeing the kids parade because our kids were ready to head back to Mima and Papa's. Later that day we had more POOL FUN at Joe and Lacy's. Then we arrived back at Mima and Papa's house for some "YUMMY" burgers, hotdogs, potato salad, tortilla chips, salsa...I think you get the picture. WE LOVE TO EAT!!! We had planned on having Ice Cream Sundaes after the cook out, but the kids were pretty wiped out and we were stuffed full. So we had some sparkler fun and watched some fireworks on TV.
It was a FUN, FUN weekend!

Fourth of July weekend Day 1-Friday

We had a blast 4th of July weekend with Mima, Papa, Chris, Joe, Lacy, Joey, and Millie. We spent our 1st day swimming in Joe and Lacy's neighborhood pool until a crazy thunderstorm came carrying lots of lightning. We had to run for cover with the 6 grandbabies. As soon as we got under the clubhouse cover the rain started to pur down and a huge bolt of lightning struck very close to us. The children started to scream and cry so we headed inside the Clubhouse and the kids played there until the rain stopped. Below are some pictures from our pool time that day.

Our happy bunch of kids!

Later on that afternoon we went to Joe and Lacy's, ate lunch, and did a fun little 4th of July craft!
Can you guess what they are making on their pages?

Thank you Aunt Lacy for planning this fun craft!!!

Here are their masterpieces......

And the whole time we were doing the craft Blaine played with the toys on the floor. It was such a FUN day for everyone!

Our Fun Weekend with the Melin Family

In March our friends Jess and Kelli Melin came to visit us with their 3 beautiful children + 1 (baby girl) on the way. We had a fun, fun weekend with them. Friday afternoon we watched their kiddos while they went to the temple and that night they brought back some YUMMY pizzas. Saturday morning we we all met over at the Science Center and had a fun day together. We packed a lunch and ate it outside. The kids seemed to really have fun together. We love it when they come to visit. Hopefully we will go down soon to visit them and their new sweet baby girl who we have not met yet. While I was doing this post Tison came up to me and said, "I want to go to the Science Center to see TJ, Summer, and Matthew." I said, "Do you think they live their?" and he said, "YES!" That was the last place he saw them. TOO FUNNY!
