Nightstands

I am soooooo excited! I have been looking for the perfect nightstands for our bedroom and my husband found them. They are really good quality and are made by Ethan Allen. The house they were in went through a fire. We wiped them down some. You can see where stuff was sitting on the table that protected the original color of the nightstands during the fire. With a little TLC (sanding and a new coat of paint...in blue-thank you Alicia for the paint :)...they used to be white) they will look like brand new. Woohooo! Did I already mention how excited I am for this DIY project.

Keeping Me on My toes at 2 years-Happy Birthday Blaine!

So our "littlest man" turned 2 yesterday! Where did my baby go? He still loves to cuddle though :). AND gives the best kisses in the world....over and over and over again. I made a white chicken chili last night for this boys birthday dinner and he fell asleep before 6:00 :(. So he is just going to have to enjoy it for lunch today. We did have a little breakfast celebration with "Dunkin Donuts"....surprise, surprise. :) He was so cute when we started to sing to him, he was singing to himself too.
Blaine is so FULL of life. Anyone that meets him or knows him ALWAYS says what a HAPPY boy he is....and that is sooo true. He just loves life. He is a "dare devil". NO FEAR...which leads me to believe he may be the one that has the broken leg or arm or stiches in this family. He is always banging his head on something (the floor, a stool, a cabinet, our heads...the list go on and on). He is testing boudaries right now, but is a WONDERFUL helper. He always helps when it is clean-up time and he always helps me clear dishes from the table. Blaine LOVES his brother--they are best buddies and adores his sisters. We love our little man and hope that he remembers having a WONDERFUL birthday (pictures of the party I will post later).
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY BLAINE! We LOVE YOU!!

Almost Black

So I went to get my hair trimmed the other day and decided to go darker with my hair color for the winter season. It has taken me a couple of days to get used to because it is sooooo much darker than how I had it before. Before I had blonde and caramel color highlights in it.
But I think I am going to like it!

November 14, 2010-Happy Birthday Nicole!!

I am still in disbelief that 3 days ago Nicole turned 9 years old. Where has the time gone? We had so much FUN celebrating with family and friends. Nicole wanted 2 things for her birthday....a dolphin pillow pet and a lap desk...so she can sit on the couch and draw or do her homework. I asked her what food she wanted for her birthday party and she told me-banana bread.....instead of cake, doughnuts, chocolate ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, popcorn, smarties, jelly beans, and lemonade (we had strawberry mint lemonade that was so delicious -thanks to Mima and Papa for bringing it). We had a small party for her on Saturday and on Sunday she requested chocolate chip pancakes for her birthday dinner. Who has the SWEET TOOTH in our house I wonder? :) Nicole has blessed our lives so much with her sweet and loving spirit. She is so very unselfish and extremely giving. She is always hugging us and telling us how much she loves us. She cares for her younger siblings and just LOVES her baby brother Blaine who in turn adores her. We are so BLESSED to have her as our daughter.

LOVE YOU NICOLE!!

My brother Chris, forever texting his friends :)!

FALL Family Hoe Down

Last night at the girl's school we had the "Fall Family Hoe Down". There was a hayless hay ride, petting zoo, pumpkin pie eating contest, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, a cake walk, etc. The kids had a lot of fun. When we had our PTA Board Meeting I volunteered to help with the decorations for the "Pumpkin Patch" we were going to have. So I bought the scarecrow pictured above and Paul and I got together and made the pumpkin patch sign. Paul cut the wood and arrow for me. I painted the arrow, letters and picture. We had fun making it. We were so happy with how it turned out that we are planning on making more in the future. Our PTA Vice Pres. asked me how much I would charge to make him one. I told him he could go ahead and buy the one we had there and asked him how much he would pay for something like that. He told me $20.00 and ended up buying the sign from me. I really didn't expect to sell our sign last night. Our VP does a pumpkin patch with his family at their home on Halloween and wanted the sign to have for his patch each year.

Monday Eve Pumpkin Carving

Monday afternoon Nicole came home with a BIG surprise from school....a PUMPKIN. Her class had a guessing contest and she WON. The children had to guess how many pumpkin seeds were inside the pumpkin and she guessed 350 which was the closest guess to the correct amount of 390 something. Since she was the closest she got to bring home the pumpkin. So we carved her prize on Monday night. The kids had FUN!!
